The intrigue, drama, romance and culinary quests associated with European truffles has been incorporated in a picturesque Australian setting on the Mornington Peninsula’s original truffle-hunting farm.
Established by Jenny McAuley in 2005 on a family property dating back generations, Red Hill Truffles is a working farm, where it’s a good idea to come in your gumboots prepared to smell the earth and get your hands dirty harvesting the hidden fungi.
Jenny’s knowledge of truffles, sustainable farming and her commitment to fostering the peninsula’s unique natural attributes, coupled with her storytelling skills combine for an informative and entertaining introduction to the world of truffles.
Hunting and harvesting truffles in the truffiere with expert guides and canine truffle detectors is an exciting adventure that changes with the seasons.
Along with fresh truffles, our truffle products including butter, salt, honey, mustard, aioli and mushroom paste, can be purchased following hunts, and at our farmgate.
A cooking class with Fiona Hammond is a new addition to our winter events.
